Hey everyone, Megan here! Welcome to Thirsty Thursday! Emily mentioned in our last blog post that last week us girls had our girl's night out. We discussed the blog and threw around a few ideas to bring some fresh new content to you guys. Thirsty Thursday was one of those ideas. I decided to take the first Thirsty Thursday because while we out we went to a local restaurant in Savannah called the Toucan Cafe. This restaurant is a remodeled house and the food is really good but the place definitely needs a paint job. Anyway, they have the most amazing minted sweet tea ever. Me, being the southern girl I am, I just had to make a copy cat. So, presenting Thirsty Thursday's first drink ever...
Refreshing and tasty!
Ingredients:
6-8 tea bags ( I use one family sized tea bag)
1 pitcher full of water
1 cup chopped mint
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
Directions:
1. Pour your pitcher of water into a large pot and heat to boiling.
2. Turn of heat and place your tea bags into the water. Let steep for 10 minutes, covered.
3. Meanwhile, place your 1/2 cup water, sugar, and mint in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil on a medium-high heat. Once the syrup is boiling and all the sugar has dissolved, removed from heat and let cool.
4. Pour your tea into your pitcher and place a strainer over the top of the pitcher. Pour in the syrup straining the mint leaves out of the syrup mixture. Stir.
BAM! Minted sweet tea. If it's not minty enough for you add more mint. Not sweet enough? Add more sugar. And that's this week's addition of Thirsty Thursday! See you guys tomorrow for Favorite Finds Friday.
