DIY Hair Tie Holders

Hey everybody! Hope y'all are having a wonderful week so far. I know I sure am! The humidity finally let up here. We are finally starting to slip into fall. Of course I know y'all didn't come here to listen to me talk about the weather, so i'll get right down to it. This week i'll be showing you how to make your own personalized hair tie holders. Very simple and VERY cheap. The idea actually came to me while my boyfriends daughter was in town. I was sitting on the couch watching TV when she came in and brought me a toilet paper roll with a bunch of hair ties on it. The idea blossomed from there and we ended up having a blast making them.

What you'll need
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
- Paint Brush
- Scrapbook Paper
- Toilet Paper Rolls (paper towel rolls would work as well)

First you will need to lay the roll on the scrapbook paper and mark where you will be cutting. Place it close to the edge but not too close. It's important to remember while doing this that it's okay to have extra room. You can always cut away any excess paper.

Now cut in a straight line where you marked the paper. I left a little extra room.

Next we want to get rid of some of the length. Go ahead and place your roll at one end and wrap it until your paper is overlapping. Mark and cut away the extra paper.

Here comes the fun part! MOD PODGE! I ended up using a paper plate so that our table wouldn't get all sticky. Use your paintbrush to completely cover the roll in glue. Special thanks to our cat Spunky for photo bombing this picture.

Once it's covered wrap the scrapbook paper around the roll and be sure to use a little extra glue if your paper overlaps. That way it will stick.

And there you have it folks! Let it dry a few minutes before using them.

Hope I saved y'all some time and money. Possibly a few less trips to the store for those lost hair ties. Have a good week and be sure to stop by for Thirsty Thursday!!
