Amaretto Sour is one of my favorite drinks. I don't remember how I found them, maybe it was my older sister who use to bartend, or maybe I was out with Leroy and asked the server to recommend something, who knows. One sip and I was in love. It doesn't taste very "alcohol-y" because Amaretto isn't a liquor that burns as it goes down, and this (at least for me and Melissa) is a giggly drink.
Super simple recipe all you need is:
Amaretto
Sweet and Sour mix
Orange slices
Maraschino Cherries
Now all the recipes I saw for it calls for this many ounces or that many ounces, I don't roll that way, because to me, if you're two drinks in measuring cups are not happening.
Fill a lowball glass with ice. Then fill the glass 2/3 of the way with the amaretto (or a little more depending on how sweet you like it, more amaretto = less sweet).
Then add the sweet and sour to the top of the glass, and give it a little spin with a spoon, or straw, or your good ole finger. Some people may prefer to make it in a shaker and that's fine, but stirring works just as well.
See the pretty amber color? Garnish this wonderful drink with an orange slice and a cherry or two. I like two because I'm a cherry hog.
Now for those of you that don't like strong drinks, this is for you. My husband NEVER drinks, if he can smell or taste alcohol he doesn't like it, and he had one and said it was good. I also took one to my neighbor who doesn't usually like mixed drinks and she loved it as well. So no strong alcohol burn or taste but I'll tell ya - after two drinks I was giggling to myself on the front porch probably looking a fool, telling myself I am hilarious in my head. Go out there and be a lush for a day, this drink is so worth any embarrassing thing you may do while under the influence (as long as it's legal!).
Hope y'all enjoy!
Looks delicious! Definitely going to give this one a try.
