Cookie Decorating Kit

So Megan and I were trying to figure out what our last Valentines Day blog post should be. We had come up with many  ideas however time got away from us and we didn't really have time to do any of the ideas we had come up with. So then in the middle of that I remembered that I did not get a final count of how many valentines I needed for Scarlett's daycare, so I called to confirm and they said they were also throwing a party and going to ask parents to bring stuff.

What?!  They tell me this the day before valentines day? I'm not the type to grab a box of cookies from the store and call it done, so we came up with this idea and solved both of our problems, something for daycare's party and another blog post.

We decided to make up kits that kids can decorate their own cookies. A little more fun than grabbing a cookie out of a plastic container from the grocery store. Of course because of the time crunch we used premade cookie dough and frosting. There is no specific order they have to be done in though.

We made instructions to attach to it so that the kids knew what to do.

We put sprinkles in a small bags (disclaimer here, we couldn't find the tiny bags so we cut the medium bags and resealed the bottoms.)

We colored the frosting pink (of course because it was for valentines day) and put it in the medium bags.

We baked the cookies and tried to ignore the certain someones hoping one will fall to the floor

.................

When cool, put the cookies in the bags.

We punched holes in the frosting, sprinkles, and instructions. We then took curling ribbon and tied the the cookie up attached the frosting then the sprinkles then the instructions. It all comes together to make a super cute kit for kids to decorate their own cookie easily. All the kids have to do is get an adult to snip the corner of the bag, they can squeeze the frosting on, lay on the sprinkles, Voila!

These would be great for birthday parties or school parties anything really! Hope you all enjoy!

I also wanted to give a BIG thanks to my friend Melissa who came over to help me finish these up and assemble the kits. With the time crunch of one day notice, she was a huge help!

    1. Yeah! The original idea was to have the cookies in heart shapes but I couldn't find a cookie cutter at the last minute. You can always use a certain cookie cutter for your party theme. The opportunities for this is endless. Thanks for stopping by!
