Covered Brick Bookends

I am going to be completely honest in saying as of yesterday afternoon I had no idea what I was going to post. I had one idea but couldn't find what I needed for it, and I was at a loss. I had been to Michael's twice trying to find inspiration and nothing was coming to me. That's when Megan stepped in with pinterest to give me some ideas. We also featured this idea from Seven7h House on the Left in our favorite finds.

I didn't think I was going to like this idea as much as I did. Not to mention the whole thing cost about $2.50 (tax and all!)

Favorite Finds Friday {13}

We made it! Friday! And it has been pretty busy for me around here. Somehow this week I was Miss Popular. I guess everyone is finally realizing how super awesome I am. Anyway, I got two birthday cakes and a super secret birthday present to finish up this coming week so I'm gonna be UBER busy. (Uber? Does anyone actually use that word anymore?) I can't be more excited about it either. On another note, here's something I found on Pinterest this week that I thought was pretty cute and I would share. Enjoy this week's Favorite Finds!

* UPDATE: I completely and totally forgot to add the websites for Emily's picks! EEK! But I fixed that little mess up. Sorry guys!

WORD. (I'm totally bringing that back.)

Melissa's Cheesy Chicken

Hello everybody! My name is Melissa, I'm a good friend of Emily and Megan. They have asked me to do a blog post for them this week of my cheesy chicken. It's a really great dish that can be mixed up depending on your family's taste, and it's cheap to boot!

Sugar Scrub For Super Soft Hands

Yay! It's a tutorial post! Sorry this post is up late this week. I'm been racking my brain trying to decide what I was going do for you guys. I was thinking about my friend Teresa and her upcoming birthday and what I was going to get my super busy friend. She goes super crazy about her birthdays. I thought back on all the gifts I have given her previously for Christmas and other birthdays. And the one that stuck in my mind was the homemade spa basket that I had given her last year for Christmas. I made a brown sugar scrub for her out of olive oil and well...brown sugar. Since then however, I came across another wonderfully brilliant sugar scrub made from dish soap and just plain old white sugar. That, my friends is what I've  decided to share with you today.

And before you ask, no this isn't what my friend Teresa is getting for her birthday. I think she would kill me if I got her the same kind of gift twice. No, the gift I got her is going make her squeal with joy and excitement. (Stayed tuned for that post later this month. *wink wink*)

My friend Teresa on her trip to New York; which she tells me was horrendous.

Favorite Finds Friday {12}

TGIF! Hope everyone's week was good. Sorry about last week with no Favorite Find Post. I was pretty much sick in bed all weekend. That and there was a whole bunch of boys over anyway playing computer games. Anyway I digress. The tutorial post will be up this weekend. Emily and I are working on some great material for you guys, so I hope you are getting excited. Below is a picture that I found on pinterest and thought it was funny so I wanted to share it with you guys. I'm sure you'll be able to relate.

 Anyway, hope you enjoy this week's Favorite Finds!

Bookshelf Redo

Hope you all had a happy 4th of July! I took the extra day off to finish up a project that got put on hold for a couple of weeks.

Scarlett all of a sudden had books pouring out of her ears. Nana sent some, Mimi bought some, Aunt Melissa gave all of her childhood books, plus what she already had. All three gave her them within about a week and a half of each other, so it was madness. We haven't read the same book at bedtime in the past 3 weeks. Books were everywhere. So it was time for her to get a bookshelf but I didn't want to just buy one.

Lucky for Megan and I working at an apartment complex has it benefits and someone had just moved out and left a bookshelf the exact size I was wanting.
