DIY Fabric Vase
Hi everyone! Recently, we added another couch to our living room to get ready for football season. I live in an apartment and the living room area is kinda small, so I had to rearrange my entire living room in fit a second couch in there. If I had got it my way we would have gotten rid of the old plaid couch that we have. Football season. Football season, Alex said to me. So, compromise. We can keep both couches if we can get the cooking channel and food network when we get our cable service turned back on for NFL RedZone. But really, it's a pretty good deal for me. Not only do I get my food network, but I get to enjoy Sunday night football without cramped quarters with all the boys around. But, I won't tell Alex that it was a good idea. No need to grow his ego any bigger than it already is. Why am I telling you this story, you ask?

Saturday Social Blog Hop 9
Hi everyone! How is the weekend going for you? Mine has been pretty low key, which is exactly what I like. But it's really the calm before the storm. Wednesday is going to the be start of the crazy holidays. At least for me. But I am kind of looking forward to those Black Friday sales. I've already got a couple of things circled in my Black Friday ads. Black Friday is always very nostalgic to me. I always think of shopping with my Mom. I miss it a lot, but with an ocean between us, going holiday shopping with my Mom every year just is feasible. But I always do think of her when Black Friday comes around. I know for some people Black Friday just isn't their cup of tea. How do you feel about it?

Tutorial Tuesday - Tiramisu
Hi everyone! You guys ready for some tastiness?
Today, I want to tell you guys a story. About seven years ago, I met my boyfriend Alex. He was working at our local Blockbuster at the time and I went in there constantly just to get a look at him. Can you believe I was actually shy at some point in my life? Yeah, really not that far of a stretch. I'm still a little shy to this day. Anyway, I would go into Blockbuster probably about three to four times a week. Nothing says I love you like a little stalking, right? One day, I went in the early afternoon, there was no one in the store but me and him. Two minutes after I walked into the door he approached me and started recommending movies. Me, of course being the shy person that I am, just smiled, nodded, and blushed like a fiend. I knew he was a very confidant person. It was one of the many reasons why I was attracted to him. So, as he was talking to me, I thought to myself that there was no way a guy like this would ever go for a shy quiet girl like me. Then, he asked me for my email address. He said he would ask for my number but that was against company policy. However, asking for my email wasn't even mentioned in Blockbuster's employee conduct book. Who knew?

Saturday Social Blog Hop 8
Hi everyone! If guys haven't noticed already there are going to be some changes around here. Because work and home life are so busy, Emily and Melissa are no longer going to be doing posts for Whimsically Homemade. I'm really going to miss them, but don't worry we're still friends. With this change, I'm going to try pull this boat along myself. This is a huge task to under take, but I'm ready for the challenge. So, with all this said, please bare with me as I make changes and decide where I want Whimsically Homemade to go as it becomes a solo act. As of right now, I've got Favorite Finds Friday on hold until further notice, but Mixer Monday and the Saturday Social are still running weekly. I hope everyone understands and can be supportive. Thanks!

Masquerade Tutorial - Dinner Party Recipes
Hi everyone! Megan here! So, this is our final tutorial on the Masquerade Dinner Party. So sad, but there is always next year for a new tutorial series. Today I'm going to be sharing with you all the recipes that we used for the dinner party. Now, we didn't take pictures of our actual dinner, but I'll include the pictures that came with recipe and link back to their original site where we found them. The pork loin that we made wasn't any special recipe. It's something you can in the meat section a Wal-Mart and they have like a bazillion different kinds to choose from.
So, what on the menu for today?

Favorite Finds Friday {26}
Why hello there! Emily again, Megan went on vacation. You know, you guys don't have to lie, the reason y'all like Favorite Fridays is because it reminds you that it's Friday, and some how some way we all survived another week. I don't know how I got through this week, being I just got back from my vacation...sad face. I miss it already but luckily I happened to just miss the hurricane.
It was so pretty in Maryland, I miss seeing the trees already. One day we spent half a day just riding the back roads and I hung my head out the window of the car just smelling the air and looking at the leaves. Nothing this pretty in Savannah!
So on we go, lets see what we found this week!
If you were featured we ask you pretty please to grab a button. It's not mandatory, but it would be nice. We follow all blogs that are featured through most media sites. (Facebook, Twitter, GFC, etc...)
